Advice for the SMT stencil opening

1.The size of the SMT stencil should first be determined according to the size of the PCB , and secondly according to the pin density of the components. The surface of the PCB is mounted with IC that with a pitch of ≤0.5mm. It is recommended to set up a stencil with a fully automatic printing size, because the larger the stencil, the better the tension and the better the snap-off effect.

2. The thickness of the SMT stencil should be determined according to the layout of the PCB surface components and the densest IC spacing. For IC below 0.5 and most of 0402 materials, it is recommended to open a stencil with a thickness of 0.1mm, and for IC above 0.5mm and most of 0603 materials, it is recommended to open a stencil with a thickness of 0.12mm.
